AWEKENING

Shortfilm I 2025
"Awakening" was created as part of a self-initiated uni project where we were free to bring our own ideas to life through film. It became a personal exploration of routine, numbness and the quiet moment that changes everything. Ben lives a life caught in repetition: each day a loop of the same motions: waking up, brushing his teeth, commuting, working, eating dinner in front of the TV. His expression is blank, his presence distant. He is not really living, just existing. The turning point comes when, one evening, Ben collapses onto his bed, drained. In a dreamlike moment, the TV flickers with a message: "You only have this life. There is no second one. Choose your time wisely - and live." From that moment, something shifts. Color returns to the world. Ben starts to notice the warmth of light, the rhythm of his surroundings, the presence of others. He reconnects with a friend, and slowly - quietly - begins to live with intention.
"Awakening" is a visual reflection on the danger of emotional autopilot and the power of awareness. It’s a reminder that life is happening now and that waking up can begin in the smallest of moments.
